my 4 years in ij have finally come to a close. funny how it ends so quickly. i was actually "fortunate" to experience the movement of the ij premises. though i won't be around to move to the new ij, moving to thomson road was equally memorable. in this page, you can find "some" pictures of the old toa payoh premises. i remember the first time i went to ij. (the first thing i noticed is how much cleaner the toilets are compared to the primary school's!!) the concourse was bustling with activity, students in various uniforms. what i found weird was ij had 2 halls... one gym one hall. :P the sec1 orientation included the cca section, which was noisy and rowdy. i still remember a very irritating senior dragging me to the chess booth (sorry chess gals..), which ultimately discouraged me from joining that cca. the ij fiesta was back on, after a stoppage for a long period (i wonder why). it was fun, but $15 for an ij fiesta t-shirt? i liked the games the various classes provided. there was the journey through the digestive system, wonderland, survivor, haunted houses, mazes... then came the fund-raising activities, (fast forward past sec3 adventure camp and self-awareness camp), there was the "fun run fund", "car rally" and "ij carnival".. the carnival was one of a kind (wonder whether they will have another soon). though i spent more time selling and preparing rather than playing, i still had a good time. hip hip hooray to the teachers for organising it! well, i don't think i can remember anymore, will recall during my special statement prose (gotta hand it soon). hope you guys can find things here that will add meaning to your life in ij .... :) |
